Dan McAlister, Vice President of Product, was recently recognized by HousingWire as part of its Rising Stars awards program. Dan joined Clear Capital in 2009 as a QA Analyst and has consistently risen through the ranks, achieving the role of VP of Product in 2023. During his tenure, he has played an instrumental role in Clear Capital’s work alongside Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to refine and modernize the appraisal process. Dan has masterfully taken on the responsibility of developing Clear Capital’s products and displays exceptional management of his teams to meet the needs of the industry.
As VP of Product, Dan is responsible for all of Clear Capital’s products. In March of 2023, Dan led Clear Capital’s launch of Universal Data Collection™ (UDC™), the company’s suite of products designed to support Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s inspection-based appraisal waiver programs. Most recently, Dan has updated Clear Capital’s UDC product to support the Uniform Property Dataset (UPD), the GSEs’ recently introduced single data standard, required for all new loan applications for Fannie Mae’s Value Acceptance + Property Data program and Freddie Mac’s ACE+ PDR solution.
In addition to UDC, Dan led the development of AURA™ (Appraisal Underwriting Risk Analyzer), which launched in August 2023. AURA provides lenders with an aggregated version of all the data necessary to fully analyze the risk of an appraisal along with a detailed summary report. It also automates underwriting capabilities to evaluate compliance with internal credit policies, GSE guidelines, and other investor overlays to close loans faster. AURA was recently recognized as a HousingWire Tech100 Mortgage winner for its innovation in propelling the mortgage sector forward in terms of transparency, accessibility, and efficiency while reducing appraisal review times by up to 50%.
